Yarding 6518 Change -161

There was a small reduction in supply however still remained relatively high at 6518 head. Cows continued to come forward in large numbers with 1,530 penned plus 300 bulls. All the regular exporters were in attendance and active plus the southern operators of the previous weeks returned and were the major buyers. The regular feed and trade buyers and restockers were present and operating.
Lightweight yearling steers returning to the paddock gained 20c/kg. Yearling steers to feed improved 3c to 7c/kg. Lightweight yearling heifers to restockers averaged 8c/kg dearer. Heavyweight yearling heifers to feed sold to a market 18c/kg better. Heavy grown steers and bullocks sold to strong demand for the quality penned. Cows experienced very little change in price from the improved levels of the last sale.
Lightweight yearling steers to restockers made to 464c to average from 409c to 441c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 404c to 409c with sales to 450c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to a top of 476c with most sales 394c to 408c/kg. Lightweight yearling heifers returning to the paddock made to 360c and averaged from 320c to 327c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made to 374c to average from 329c to 349c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to a top of 384c to average 357c/kg.
Heavy grown steers and bullocks averaged from 378c to 379c and sold to 400c/kg. Heavy grown heifers made to 382c to average 366c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 276c and made to 294c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 316c the best of the cows made to 347c to average 336c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 352c/kg.

A larger yarding at Dalby this week with 6518. All regular export buyers including southern operators were in attendance and very active. The usual feed, trade and restockers buyers were present and operating. Prices remaining strong with the longer yarding, most classes slightly dearer. Cows remaining firm on last week.
