With bumper sales and increased yardings, it was all action at this week’s Roma Saleyards sale.

Just shy of 10,200 head, all the regular processors, feedlotters and backgrounders were in and amongst the action with the market remaining solid to dearer across majority categories.

Feeder and backgrounder heifers recorded gains of up to 30 cents compared to last week’s sale.

The cow market was equally strong, reaching up to 370c/kg – an increase of up to 20 cents for  cows.

Cattle were drawn primarily from the local supply district, including Mungallala, Surat, Injune, Morven and Thallon.

The yarding also featured cattle from the northern regions including Mount Isa and Aramac as well as an increased number of southern lines from as far afield as Marala in South Australia.
