AUSTRALIA’S world-leading livestock genetic evaluation system, BreedPlan, notches up 40 years of operations this year, and to celebrate the occasion a series of activities are planned next month on the NSW New England.
BreedPlan has dedicated the last four decades to supporting the genetic evolution of Australian seedstock animals, aiding in the development of a profitable and sustainable world-leading industry in Australia.
BreedPlan is a genetic evaluation system for beef cattle, developed in Australia with industry funding, and commercialised through the Agricultural Business Research Institute in Armidale, NSW.
The BreedPlan software is currently used by seedstock producers worldwide, include in Australia, New Zealand, Southern Africa, South America, North America, the UK and Europe.
BreedPlan assists beef producers to better understand the genetic merit of their animals, thus allowing them to make more informed selection decisions and drive genetic progress in their breeding programs.
