YESTERDAY’S article Feeder steers surge a dollar a kilo in a month, contained an incorrect date referring to forward contracts for 100-day grainfed slaughter cattle next year.
The original version of the article (since corrected, with an editor’s note) incorrectly suggested a forward contract price of 580c/kg related to April 2024 delivery cattle offered by Queensland grainfed processors, when it should have been March delivery.
The industry contact we spoke to for the article accidently referenced the wrong month during the conversation.
No 100-day grainfed forward contracts have yet been issued for April, as far as Beef Central is aware.
