
Yarding 6488 Change -438
Cattle numbers at Dalby experienced a small reduction of 438 head to 6488. However, the number of cows penned increased to 1,073 along with 344 bulls. Export buyer attendance was not as good as the previous week, and not all were operating however the southern buyers were very active in the market.
Light weight yearling steers and heifers returning to the paddock sold to a market 4c to 6c/kg better. Medium and heavy weight yearling steers and heifers to feed sold to very strong demand to experience only quality variations. Heavy grown steers and bullocks to export processors averaged 8c to 10c/kg better. The cow section was dominated by heavy weight classes and prices remained firm to just marginally dearer.
Light weight yearling steers to restockers made to 604c with a large sample averaging from 512c to 537c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 496c to 498c and sold to 536c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed also made to 536c to average from 475c to 486/kg. Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock made to 482c to average from 427c to 430c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged from 422c to 432c and sold to 478c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to an isolated 480c to average 432c/kg.
Medium weight four tooth steers to feed averaged 460c and made to 474c/kg. Heavy weight grown steers to export processors made to 444c and the bullock portion made to 441c to average 426c/kg. Medium weight very plain condition cows averaged 317c and made to 340c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 373c and the best of the cows averaged 396c and made to 416c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 415c/kg.
