
Yarding 6845 Change -145
The agents keep finding plenty of cattle with a yarding of 6845. It was another good quality yarding with good numbers of prime cattle in all sections. There were also good numbers to suit the feeders along with some large consignments of weaners in store condition in from the far west. Not all the regular buyers were present with both feeder buyers and processor operators absent in a mostly cheaper market.
Young cattle to the processors were 12c cheaper with prime vealers and yearlings selling from 380c to 475c/kg. Heavy weight feeder steers were close to firm on average, most of the feeder steers and heifers though were 5c to 10c/kg cheaper. Feeder steers sold from 369c to 497c while the feeder heifers sold from 380c to 457c/kg. Young cattle to the restockers and backgrounders were up to 40c cheaper with the young steers selling to 526c while the young restocker heifers sold to 442c/kg.
Grown steers and heifers were firm to 4c cheaper with the prime grown steers selling from 428c to 470c/kg. Prime grown heifers sold from 410c to 450c/kg. Cows were 3c to 9c cheaper with the 3 scores to the processors selling from 314c to 368c/kg. Prime heavy weight cows sold from 370c to 400c to average 386c/kg. Cows to the restockers sold from 294c to 334c/kg. Bulls were up to 50c cheaper with processor bulls selling to 350c/kg.
