LEARNING where each cut sits in a beef carcase and their respective value with UNE meat science expert Professor Peter McGilchrist and understanding how to conduct a practical financial performance analysis on a business with Marcus Oldham lecturer and director David Cornish were among valuable lessons learned by more than 220 young beef producers at Roma this morning.
The Young Beef Producers Forum has been running for 21 years, providing a forum for building networks, gaining practical industry knowledge and hearing inspiring stories from industry achievers.
Also on the agenda for this year’s event is a sesson on perceptions of the beef industry invoving meat marketing expert Richard Rains, sports dietician Peta Carige and Beef Central journalist Eric Barker, and presentations from Jimmy Bellingham, the owner and director of Bellingham Contract Mustering, Tim Lee from the Lachlan Hughes Foundation on the Regeneration of Soil and Self.
