COLD fronts and low pressure troughs brought rainfall across the south-west and parts of southern and eastern Australia.
Weekly rainfall totals between 5 and 50 mm were recorded across southern and the south-west of Western Australia, parts of Victoria, Tasmania, in South Australia from the Eyre Peninsula extending inland, then across New South Wales to the central-east coast.
Western Tasmania and the far south-west of Western Australia had weekly totals exceeding 50 mm.
Northern and inland Australia was generally dry, typical for this time of year.
The highest weekly total (at a Bureau gauge) was 111.4 mm at Mt Read in Tasmania.
The highest daily total (at Bureau gauge) was 87.0 mm at Ballina Airport AWS in New South Wales in the 24 hours to 9 am 21 July.
