A series of cold fronts and associated low pressure troughs brought light to moderate rainfall to southern parts of Australia during the week.
A low pressure system developed off the west coast of Tasmania during the week and brought several days of light to moderate rainfall totals to the state.
Weekly totals of 10 to 50 mm were recorded in south-western and southern Western Australia, southern parts of South Australia, south-western, central and eastern parts of Victoria and all of Tasmania.
Weekly rainfall totals greater than 50 mm were recorded in inland parts of Western Australia, parts of south-eastern South Australia extending into south-western Victoria and in western and northern Tasmania which included isolated totals over 100 mm in the west of the state.
Most of northern Australia received little to no rainfall during the week.
The highest weekly total (at a Bureau gauge) was 183.2 mm at Mount Read in Tasmania, which also included the highest daily total of 78.8 mm, in the 24 hours to 9 am on 03 October.
