Yarding 6735 Change -170

There was a small reduction of 170 head to 6,735 at Dalby. The number of cows penned also reduced however still remained relatively high at 1396 head along with 2481 steers. Export buyer attendance was good with the return of one local processor plus interstate operators, however not all the regular feed and trade buyers were active in the market.
Demand and prices varied in places. Light weight yearling steers and heifers to restockers could not maintain the levels of the previous week. However all other clasess sold to a dearer trend. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed improved by 5c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed sold to a market 40c/kg better. Heavy grown steers and bullocks averaged 15c to 20c/kg dearer. Cows experienced a much stronger market with improvements of 30c to 40c/kg.
Light weight yearling steers to restockers made to 494c to average from 447c to 456c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed averaged from 450c to 474c and sold to 480c/kg. Heavy weights sold to 486c to average 455c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers to restockers made to 352c to average from 319c to 338c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 394c and made to 414c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to 442c to average 391c while processor lines made to 440c/kg some returning $2,150/head.
Heavy grown steers and bullocks averaged 450c and made to 460c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 304c and sold to 330c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 337c and the best of the cows made to 385c to average 368c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 390c/kg.
